ROTO LA VICTORIA. MAGDALENA, RIVER, COLOMBIA
Due to heavy rain events prior to 2012, the Magdalena River broke its banks and flooded the Monposina Depression in Colombia
ROTO COLORADO, SANTA ANITA. CAUCA RIVER, COLOMBIA
Due to the same heavy rain events which affected the Roto La Victoria, the Cauca River (tributary river of the Magdalena River) broke its banks and contributed to the flooding of the Monposina Depression in Colombia.
The Cauca River bank was re-established in 2013/2014 with the installation of the Megabag® product.

The Magdalena River bank was re-established in 2012 with the installation of the Megabag® product.
As shown below, the Megabag® product can resist loads from heavy equipment, facilitating installation and also serving as a roadway.
Beach Stabilization for Crespo Tunnel Project ProtectionCartagena, Colombia
The Megabag® is being used to stabilize the beach by creating a submerged barrier parallel to the coast of Cartagena, as shown above. The beach stabilization in this area is paramount for protecting the roadway tunnel project which was at risk due to erosion from tidal waters. The Megabag® product has been successful in protecting the tunnel project with the use of over 6,000 Megabag® products. This project involves the installation of approximately 100 Megabags® per day.
Port AguadulceBuenaventura, Colombia
A provisional dock measuring 130 m (426.5 ft) in length, 30 m (98.4 ft) in width, and an average height of 8 m (26.2 ft) was constructed with Megabags® filled with soils from the site (residual soils composed of clay and organic material). This design was provided as an alternate after the original design using sheet piling and imported fill resulted to be very costly and complex due to the existing organic material and other site conditions.
The provisional dock, which was originally used for facilitating construction, is currently still standing with no needed maintenance, and continues to be used for port operations.
